VO2 Max Testing & Fitness Coaching

Our VO₂ max testing provides a precise measurement of your cardiovascular fitness, informing customized training programs. What to Expect During Your VO2 Max Test

  1. Preparation:
    Avoid vigorous exercise for 48 hours prior to test. Avoid moderate exercise for 24 hours prior to test. Consume only water for 10 hours prior to test (no caffeine or pre-workout drinks). Wear comfortable exercise clothes.

  2. Getting Set Up:
    You'll wear specialized mask that fits snugly over your nose and mouth. This mask measures the amount of oxygen you inhale and carbon dioxide you exhale. You will perform a 10-20 minute “RESTING” test while sitting comfortably.

  3. Warm-Up:
    You’ll start a 5-10 minute warm-up to get comfortable with the Concept 2 bike and to prepare your body and mind to perform at your highest intensity.

  4. The Test:
    The intensity, measured in watts, will increase every minute, pushing your body to work harder.

  5. Monitoring:
    Throughout the test, your heart rate, breathing, and oxygen usage will be closely monitored. The goal is to determine the maximum amount of oxygen your body can utilize.

  6. Cool Down:
    After reaching your maximum effort, the exercise intensity will decrease to allow you to cool down safely.

  7. Results & Discussion:
    Once the test is complete, and analysis of your data will be performed and the results will be discussed with you. This information helps tailor fitness and health plans to your specific needs and goals.
